About the Phoenix Report
How the Phoenix Report is made.
What we calculate, how we checked it, how we write and what we do not claim. Everything on this page can be traced to a test we ran or a rule we follow.
The Phoenix Report is a personal PDF of about 60 pages. It explains your Human Design chart and your birth sky in plain language, calculated from your date, time and place of birth, and it shows how the 2027 cycle change relates to your chart. Human Design is an interpretive system. It is not scientifically validated, and nothing here is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. What can be checked is the calculation, and that is what most of this page is about.

How your chart is calculated
Your local birth time is converted to universal time with the time zone database that includes the historical rules for your place and date, including daylight saving time. A chart then needs 2 moments: your birth, and the Design moment, when the Sun stood 88 degrees behind its birth position, about 3 months earlier.
For both moments we calculate the positions of the Sun, Moon, planets and Lunar Nodes with the open-source astronomy library astronomy-engine. We use apparent positions, which include light travel time and aberration, on the ecliptic of the date. The Lunar Nodes are the true nodes. The Earth is placed exactly opposite the Sun.
The zodiac is divided into 64 Gates of 5.625 degrees, each with 6 Lines. The Wheel of Gates begins with Gate 41 at 2 degrees Aquarius. Each position falls into one Gate and one Line. Type, Authority, Profile, defined Centers, Channels and the Incarnation Cross follow from these activations. The steps are explained in How a Human Design chart is calculated.
How we checked the calculation
We compared our calculation with an independent Human Design calculator on 219 invented birth data sets. No customer data was used. We re-ran the comparison on October 16, 2026 with the code that is in use today.
- Type, Authority, Profile, definition, defined Centers, Channels and the 4 Gates of the Incarnation Cross matched in 219 of 219 charts.
- Of 5,694 Gate and Line values for all bodies, 5,690 matched.
- The 4 differences were 1 Line each. In all 4 cases the position lies within 0.002 degrees of the boundary between two Lines.
This check covers the calculation. It does not cover the interpretation. The texts in a report are descriptions from within the Human Design system, and no comparison can show them to be true or false.
What happens without a birth time
You can order the report without a birth time. We then calculate with 12:00 noon local time and say so in the report. To see what that means, we ran a test with 1,200 random birth dates between 1940 and 2009 and compared the chart for 12:00 noon with the chart for a random time of day.
- The Type was different in 14.8 % of the cases.
- The Authority was different in 11.5 %.
- The Profile was different in 38.7 %.
- At least one Channel was different in 45.6 %.
The Moon moves about 13 degrees a day, so it is the body that depends most on the time. The Ascendant and Houses need an exact time and are left out of a report without one. If you can find your birth time, a birth certificate is the best source.
How we write
- Statements within the system. Whatever Human Design says is labeled as a statement within the Human Design system. We do not present it as science and we do not make predictions.
- Documented and not documented. Where a claim rests on a source you can read, we link it. Where we found no primary source, we say so. The exact day of the 2027 change is the main example in our date guide.
- Our own work is marked. Calculations we ran ourselves, such as the sky on February 15, 2027, are labeled as our own.
- No pressure. We invite you to reflect. We do not use countdowns to push a purchase, and we do not claim that a chart decides anything for you.
- Care for your wellbeing. If a feeling is strong or lasts, please talk to a qualified professional.
If you find an error
Please write to hello@phoenix-report.com and name the page and the sentence. We check it against the source, correct the article and show an “Updated” date on it. If the error is in your own report, we send you a corrected version.
